Harrington Park Mayor Staves Off Challenger, Other Areas Races Uncontested

HARRINGTON PARK, N.J. – Independent Incumbent Mayor Paul A. Hoelschler beat back a challenge from Republican Councilwoman Michelle Ryan on Tuesday, according to unofficial results from the Bergen County Board of Elections.

Hoelschler, who serves on the Executive Committees of Bergen County League of Municipalities and Bergen County Joint Insurance Fund, received 1,024 votes.

Ryan, who works with the County Department of Parks and is a member of the finance committee, got 455 votes.

Four candidates vied for two open seats on the borough council. Independents Jorden Pedersen, with 909 votes, and Laura Fitzgerald, with 873, topped Republicans Richard Guerra (438) and Diane Walker (568). 

Scott Weiner ran uncontested in the school board elections and received 613 votes. 

Haworth 

HAWORTH, N.J. – Four candidates vied for two open seats on the borough council.

Republican Regina Duffy received 340 votes and Democrat Glenn Poosikian got 442 votes. 

Republican Bonnie Borghi and Democrat Jack J. Ferber received 327 and 330 votes, respectively. 

Haworth Board of Education Elections

Two candidates ran uncontested for the Board of Education. Stacey Nora Wunsch received 327 votes, while Nicole M. Brennan got 355. 

Northvale

NORTHVALE, N.J. – Northvale Republican Peter Sotiropoulos won a council seat with 397 votes, while Democrat Toni M. Macchio took another with 301 votes. Republican John Lorenzini and Democrat Michael Small lost with 272 votes and 265 votes, respectively. 

Northvale Board of Education Elections

Robert Bargna (320) and Johanna Bargisan (248) ran uncontested in the race for two open seats on the Board of Education. 

Norwood

NORWOOD, N.J. – Republican Mayor James Barsa ran unopposed for re-election and got 557 votes. 

There were also two uncontested Borough Council races.

Republican Joseph Ascolese got 401 votes and Democrat Thomas Brizzolara got 444.

Norwood Regional Board of Education Elections

Ghanshyam C. Vaghasia won an uncontested seat with 414 votes. 

Norwood Local Board of Education Elections

Edward T. Cammarata ran unopposed and got 487 votes.

Old Tappan 

OLD TAPPAN, N.J. – Republican John Kramer ran unopposed and got 716 votes. So did council Republicans Guy Casrnazza (648 votes) and Anna Haverilla (661).Old Tappan Regional Board of Education Elections

There were four candidates vying for two open seats on the Board of Education. Melissa Driscoll and Daniel Eller nearly tied at 440 and 439 votes each. John Passalacqua and Kathleen Fable lost with 349 and 403 votes, respectively.

Three candidates vied for two open seats on the Board of Education. 

John L. Shahdanian II and Melissa Del Rosso got 425 and 419 votes, topping Richard Ferrigno, who had 320. 

Rockleigh 

ROCKLEIGH, N.J. – Two candidates ran uncontested for council. Republicans John Mender and Marilyn Bresnak received 34 and 30 votes, respectively.
